Hydrojetting
What is hydro jetting (in plain English)?
Hydro jetting is basically pressure washing for your pipes.
Instead of just poking a hole through a clog, it uses very high-pressure water to blast everything off the inside of the pipe walls.
How does it work?
- A highly trained licensed plumber from Swift puts a special hose with a nozzle into your drain.
- The machine shoots water through it at extremely high pressure (think thousands of PSI).
- The nozzle sprays in multiple directions:
- Forward to break up clogs
- Backward to pull the hose through the pipe and clean as it goes
- The water scrubs the pipe clean, flushing debris out to the sewer.

How is it different from basic drain cleaning?
Basic drain cleaning (like snaking):
- Punches a hole through the clog
- Gets water flowing again
- Can leave buildup behind
Hydro jetting:
- Removes the entire clog AND buildup
- Cleans grease, sludge, scale, even roots
- Restores the pipe closer to its original condition
Think of it like this:
- Snaking = poking a hole through a blockage
- Hydro jetting = power washing the whole pipe clean
What results can you expect?
- Drains flow like new again
- Removes:
- Grease buildup
- Soap scum
- Sludge
- Mineral scale
- Tree roots (in many cases)
- Debris
- Helps prevent future clogs
- Eliminates odors caused by buildup
Who benefits from hydro jetting?
Homeowners
- Frequent clogs in kitchen or main line
- Slow drains throughout the house
- Older homes with buildup inside pipes
Businesses (big one)
- Restaurants (grease buildup is a constant issue)
- Commercial kitchens
- Apartment buildings
- Condos
Property managers / contractors
- Preventative maintenance
- Before inspections or selling a home
- After repeated drain issues
When it’s especially worth it
- Recurring clogs (same drain keeps backing up)
- Grease-heavy lines (kitchens)
- Main sewer line problems
Bottom line
Hydro jetting doesn’t just "fix" a clog—it resets the pipe by cleaning it thoroughly.
